Blog your build is a new way to share your build, get connected with other Cape Falcon Kayak owners and builders, and save some money at the same time. The videos still cost money and you must purchase them to build, but now you can get plan sets for FREE.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Enroll and purchase the video building course.
- Send me an email and I will send you a login for your account on the blog.
- Add yourself to the map.
- Once you start building, log into the blog and make a post to document your build. All I ask is that every time you build, you update your post with a picture or two, and maybe a few comments, and when you’re done, maybe come back and post an initial paddling impression and another one 6 months later. That’s it.
- Once your build is complete and your blog post is up, send me an email and I’ll refund the cost of your plans ($75 for kayaks, $50 for canoes).
This helps us spread the word about Cape Falcon Kayaks and gives you a neat thing to share as well as learn about other builders in your area. Enter your email address in the map form if you’d like us to connect you with other builders outside of the blog (emails won’t be posted publicly).
This offer also applies to people who have already bought plans and videos. Post your build pics and get another free plan set or a refund. Good luck with your build!

THE FINE PRINT:
By sharing your build on the blog or on one of our social networks, you agree to allow us to reuse your text or photos elsewhere in promotion of our boats and build classes. You know we’re not running any international advertising campaigns over here, but we do want to be able to repost to our social media feeds and newsletter on occasion. We also reserve the right to remove any content that’s inappropriate. I’m assuming we won’t ever need to exercise that right, but it’s one of those things we have to say.
LICENSING UPDATES:
Finally, I just wanted to take a moment to share a few updates to our licensing agreement. We now allow kids under 18 to build completely for free in an at home setting (educational programs contact me). Also, I now allow builders to build a second boat from a single plan set as a gift for another person if that person in not building. This is on the honor system, please be honest! Commercial builders and educational programs contact me, my rates are pretty reasonable. This also applies retroactively to people who have already bought plans and videos.
